About five or six years ago I built a layout with 027 track that fit on a hollow core door. I don’t recall the track plan arrangement but it also had a trolley that ran continuously on an elevated track above the main track .
Anybody familiar with this book? It may have been written by Dr. Peter Riddle, and published by Kalmbach. A search of Kalmbach books wasn’t successful.
I’ve just searched over 400 results on Amazon with no luck.

Weather is grey, freezing, all the snow melted last week so everything is kinda dirty looking. The time of year I hide in the basement and play trains.
Thor’s site has some cool door layouts for both 027 and 0. Don’t know if the one you’re looking for is on here, but it’s worth looking at anyway. I want to do one of these for my nephew next year for Christmas. Here’s the link
My brother went to York H.S. in '70. We lived on Fairview Ave. right off St. Charles Rd. My other brothers & sisters went to Immaculate Conception.

I did see the layout ideas for doors on thor’s website but none with the elevated trolley line. It’s pretty cool to have a no-maintenence situation while your running another train on the tracks below.
My sister, Maggie Wilson, graduated in '72. Maybe your bro knew her. Ridgeland is on the north side of the quarry, 3 blocks east of West ave. Small world.
If you do get up to Chicago you gotta go to Chicagoland Hobby. They’re on Northwest Highway, kinda near the airport. I went there today and picked up a MTH building, very nice. The store is packed with trains, all scales, primarily “O”.
