I bought some 022 controllers on eBay, but they have no lamp bases, nor is there any indication that they were ever presen. The pieces seem pristine, with no indication of any removal and subsequent cleanup. Should I be able to Mount them my self if I purchase some online? I believe the base size is e10.
by the way the seller did give me a 50 pct refund.
This bit me once too. Those are O27 switch controllers from MPC. MPC used the 022 switch control tool, with lamp bases renoved, for O27 switches. They look the same, even have the light globes, but O27 switch controlers are not illuminated in the MPC era.
If you can find the parts you can convert them to light with your 022 switches, but better to find the correct controllers.
Ok. What a disappointment! They look great!
in order to Mount lampsockets, I need some rivet tools which I don’t have.
I got a good price but not that good!
No, not MPC. These were made in the Lionel Toy Corp. era.
The 1122 single sale LH & RH blister packs sold in the mid 60s were packed with special 022C controllers that had been gutted of their bulb mounts/bases and had non-functional red & green globes affixed. Once in a while you will stumble across these oddballs in collections/lots.
can lamp bases be installed? e10 the industry (not Lionel) designation number?
Well, anything can be done with time, effort, and money, but it would be more cost effective to buy the right ones, or the electrically identical K-Line controllers, and sell your rare controllers on eBay as they are the correct ones for the very rare B1122RH/B1122LH and 1122RH/1122LH single-sale switches.
