I have a few #022 o-guage switches that do not “snap” completely from one side to the other when triggered. Is there a simple fix like a lubrication, etc. or do these switches need to be serviced/parts replaced?
I posted a procedure for totally restoring 022 switches some time ago. Look up 022/711 Switch Operating Pblms and you should find it.
Thank you. Could you assist me in finding “022/711 switch operating pblms”. I am new to this site and not sure how to locate this.
A definite must read thread.
Thanks again for all the help and valuable information.
If they move freely manually, it’s usually the contacts that need cleaning/adjustment to correct incomplete movement.
Or raise the voltage to the switch. Use the constant voltage plug, and if you don’t have any of the plugs, a blue crimp on terminal will work. I use the 20 volt constant voltage tap on a KW to power my switches. I have not observed any problem with contact erosion in the switches.
I run them at 16V, but I’m sure 20 will move them quickly! [(-D]
