Did I catch child labor in the foundry? Just the machines created for making the ties is mind boggling. This was a very interesting video of a process I had no idea what went into. Thanks for sharing it.
I noticed that, too. Obviously, this was made before child labor laws went into effect or enforced.
I also see a lot of dress clothing worn, including suits and ties. That can’t be what they were wearing back then for every day work on the tracks. They probably got a heads-up that they were going to be filmed and dressed up for the occasion. Maybe even a special company dress code for “filming day”.
