1/29 scale Mi-Jack 1000 translift intermodal straddle crane.

As I mentioned in an earlier posting I am in the early stages of constructing the above. It occured to me that there may be other folks out there who would like one!
I could provide basic drawings, patterns, and possibly jigs for a small charge to cover costs. I need to consider this at this stage of construction. Please let me know.

Thanks and Merry Christmas.

Roger,

Count me in. I just walked in from the layout searching for the height of the USA intermodal. Can’t find it. Anyone out there got a tape measure that can help out?

Need clearances for the layout to fit in with the intermodal yard.

Let me know what you come up with. I wouldn’t mind contributing.

Heres a thought also, I bought Athaerns rubber tired unit to copy and enlarge to 1:29 so it can be used with my trains. But time , finding it that is to build it has been hard.[:(]

Hi Timothy and Marty, Glad it has sparked some interest.
USA Intermodal is 220mm in height from top of rail. Prototype height loading gauge is
23 feet. which gives you around 10mm clearance. Hope that helps. Re the crane it will be awhile before I have anything for you as time is a tricky commodity as you say but it is progressing. Any pictures or info would be most welcome as the ones here in the UK are somewhat different!

Happy New Year

I AM BUILDING THIS SAME MODEL IN O SCALE (1/48 SCALE). I USE WOOD AND PLASTIC MATERIALS. I DO NOT INTENDED TO MASS PRODUCE THE MODEL ALTHOUGH i HAVE “HOW TO” INSTRUCTIONS ON CD. I USE MODEL AIRPLANE RUBBER BALLOON TIRES.
