This is a Roger Carp project, not a CTT project. While I presume he probably picked up some photos from the magazine, 100% of the text is original from Roger.
Everything written in my latest book is brand new!! I have written new material to introduce the book and explain the project of selecting what I think are the 101 best items (locomotives, freight cars, passenger cars, accessories, sets, and more) released during the postwar era of 1945-69 in O and S gauge. All the one- or two-page essays are brand new, using research that I have conducted over the more than 20 years I have worked at “Classic Toy Trains.” Some photographs are not new, but the vast majority are! I think that everyone who collects, operates, or just admires postwar toy trains will enjoy and learn from this book. See what you think–it will be available from Kalmbach Publishing in October. Feb 2006 CTT has a article by John Grams, Sleepers and Duds. I just happened to be reading that issue as I was out of the hobby for years. Sleepers ars Marx 666 because because it always runs and is low price. Amer Flyer 592 crrossing gate and shanty, Marx bridges, Lionel 1666 steam for good porportions and runs good. Lionel 9500 series heavyweight passenger cars, Amer Flyer 715 vehicle unloading car. Duds are Lionel 3656 stockcar and corral because it really dosn’t work very good. Lionel 52 fire car because it dosn’t make any sense. Lionel 192 railroad control tower also no sense. Lionel 110& 111 trestle sets, and Lionel heatrer coil smoke generators and SP pellets
Thanks, Roger. It sounds like a must-have.
