I need a pinion gear for my 1688e and can’t find an exploded view anywhere. Can anyone tell me where to find an exploded diagram or tell me part # itself. I count 12 teeth on the bad one. I’ve located the other gear (AM-70) but this is really giving me a headache Many thanks.
Hello Aurora351! Give Jeff a call at the Train Tender. His phone# is 1-585-381-0705 & he should be able to help you out. Part number isn’t as important as the diameter of the armature shaft.If your 1688E is from 1936 the Armature Shaft diamenter is .112" In 1937 & after the Armature shafts were changed to .125" Diamenter. So, If you know the year of your 1688Es manufacture then you’re in luck or you can take the motor to a Machine Shop & have the Armature Shaft Checked with a Micrometer. Good Luck.
