Help!! I have an HO layout set in the early 1900’s. I have a 1922 Car Builders Encyclopedia that has the required lettering guide for 1922.
What I need is a source guide for lettering about 10 years earlier ca 1910.
Does anyone have any ideas? Google so far has been no help — perhaps I’m using the wrong search arguement ----
Thanks for any and all suggestions!

Art Griffin has a lot of info for your era.

He also belongs to the below Yahoo Early Rail Groups. Both have a lot of information for the 1900 era.
Make sure to look in the Files, Photos, Links sections of those two groups if you join.

“The American Railroad Freight Car” by John H. White Jr. is an excellent book. It is right in your time frame. It is a paperback book the size of the Mahattan phonebook. Check it out.
Amazon has a few used versions. Starting at $38.00. That is how I obtained my book a year ago or so. You will get references to this book from Early Rail people.

Clover House has a lot of dry transfer sets from that era as well. He is on the net but I don’t remember his address…
