1935 Chevy Saftey Video Hailing Railroad Saftey...

I found this on youtube today, its basically comparing Auto drivers with locomotive engineers. Lots of great steamers in this one!

The ending is a bit funny!

Thanks for posting that.

Great location footage from a long gone era.

Seems like 30’s era Public Service pieces always have a bratty kid involved.

Judging by the plethora of PM and NYC rolling stock, I’m guessing that was shot around Detroit. I kept my eyes open for familiar images/backgrounds, but I couldn’t pick any out. Of course, that was shot 15 years before I was born…

I thought I eyed up some Grand Trunk locos as well.

Neat stuff. The website that comes from ( www.archive.org ) has a number of railroad related films. Most notably a couple of ‘behind the scenes’ type documentaries made in the late steam and early diesel era on major class 1s (New Haven and SP, probably among others).

Probably was Detroit.

Jam Handy has their studios/offices at Grand Blvd and Oakland.

I worked there in the early 60s

Yep–Detroit! Those 700-series Pacifics were PM’s biggest and best passenger power until the E7s arrived.

I was kind of hoping to see something through my old home town (it was PM pre-C&O) or maybe a shot from the GM Proving Grounds. Maybe next time.
