1st test run of the Kittatinny Mt RR

Well I finally got the track balasted and ran my first train. I tried my LGB starter set first and it ran great. I only needed to hook up wire to one part of the layout. The train ran great, ran smooth with no stopping or slowing down. Here are some pictures of my first test ran. My Bachmann ran great as well although the front wheels lifted off the track but that was over the creek without any support. (Thats the next project). After the cribbing and trestle goes in I will work on the Mountains and lanscaping and the finer details.

Looks great. Its a good idea to water your ballast in before a big rain storm comes along and splashes stones dust everywhere. You’ll find you will need to reballast a few times your first year and less so in future years.

Your daughter looks like a future heartbreaker. You best keep a few big sticks handy to beat the boys off with!

Looks like the whole hard work paid off! Enjoy!!!

Hey, looks like your wife talking on the cell phone!!! What’s up with that?? [zzz]

How does your family think about your new obsession? My wife thought I was nuts until I got the train up and running and she could have fun with the plants and buildings.

Shawn:

Looking good. Looks to me like that little heartbreaker is going to have as much fun with this as you are.

Toad:

She’s only getting in her 10,000 daily words. Let the poor gal alone, the more she talks to others the more work he can get in.

congrats!!!

applaud your decision to eventually do some mods and go SE scale

Hi Sowshoe, It looks great enjoy it I see the lady is letting every one know that you are up and running so exspect an influx of ladies on the pretence of looking at your layout but we guys know that its just an excuse to get together for a chin wag. Enjoy it thats what its albout[:)]

Toad

She was on the cell but she was talking to her mom telling her about the trains. Since it was about the trains I let it slip LOL

Na, you can not let her get away with it! You have to have her model your new line of Engines. Yepo, cause Toad Frog said so! That is mean being on the cell phone!!! We want pixs!!!

I will get a few more pics. I got the cribbing up and been working on the trestle. Im having a tough time with the trestles because they have to go in my creek. Problem is I cant dig since I have a rubber liner. I will have to have them float ontop of the liner. I dont need them for support more for looks. Im hoping after work to get some more work done.
