It was the railroads. Now, there’s been THREE accidents in 2 days on the same railroad!!
My parents-in-law live less than two miles from the site. Their house is on a hillside across the interstate - they missed the evacuation perimeter by less than five blocks.
This would have been the second time they would have been evacuated for a CSX derailment - about 12 years ago they lived a few miles to the south in Shepherdsville when a freight bought it on the Salt River bridge. They had to move out for that one.
Hmmm - my son lives less than 200 yards from the Louisville-Nashville main in a dorm at Western Kentucky University, and my daugher has an apartment within 100 yards of the Corbin Division main in Williamsburg KY at the University of the Cumberlands. Maybe we should consider transferring them back home to Ohio State?
