About three weeks ago (yes, sadly I’m that far behind in processing) I had an errand to run in Ft. Morgan. I followed the Brush Sub back to Denver, and caught a couple of shots along the way.

Here’s the same train a little further east. As we were headed towards Denver, there was a storm building behind us. The Golden Hour is nice, but I still think that that storm light is my favorite kind of light:
Sorry about the wonky colors…I think my monitor needs to be reprofiled. I’ll swap out these shots for some with better color when I get that done.

Thanks for the kind words. This was actually a pretty small storm (at least compared to some of the stuff we’ve seen this year). I was out camping on the CO/KS border last weekend. We had a cell headed our direction that had 60,000 ft. radar tops on it (I phoned a pilot friend of mine when the sky lit up with fireworks courtesy of Mother Nature). Thankfully it swung south and missed us. Still, it’s been an interesting weather year thus far. Who would have thought that at the beginning of July our highs in Denver would be lower than most of the lows in the Northeast?
Nice shots! That storm light is certainly a lot of fun to work with.
