For your cornfield, visit a large paint department. Ask for some color chips, the colors of the can caps are not the same. If all you can find is gloss paint, you can always spray a coat of dull cote to give a nice flat finish.
For your stock yards fences, Light gray auto primer, either Krylon or Rustoleum will give a fine weathered wood look.
While you are looking at the auto primers, I use dark gray auto primer for steam locomotivs, tar paper roofs, truck side frames, and undercarriages. The red auto primer makes a fine box car red, and a fine brick red. I now spray trucks with red auto primer.
