i thought id save time and space by combining these----
1:
for those of you that live in a split level house, how did you make use of your space for a layout? seeing my struggle to keep my bedroom usefull and still put an impressive layout in there, my mom offered me the entire back wall of the partially underground living room. [:D][tup] i cant have it more than 20" wide, because our couch is also along that wall.i do have space for a loopey thing at each end.

(‘d use at least #6 but They will occasionnally go through atlas custom line #4’'s they also work good on 22 and 24" radii curves
I also am planning to build a half line around my room on tyhe top, above al windows etc
If you have a spare bedroom you could build an around-the-walls type layout like I did. Mine is 30" wide around the room at 5 feet. You have to duck to get inside the room but its not bad. If you wanted to you could have a bed partially under the layout since the benchwork requires no legs.
thats kinda what i was doing before, but i was pushing the idea of selective compression past its limits in places. im modeling the P&W between old saybrook and new london CT, a good 45 minute drive. i crammed this into about 15 feet. [
] im working on a plan for the living room right now. i have squeezed in space for an “operators pit” on one end. theres a conveinent shelf at about 50", so ill just extend that out to where i need it.
