Living in the pacific northwest, I’m glad to see bowser is coming out with a C636 next year, but what really got my blood flowing was bachmann announment for the 2-8-8-4 EM-1. Do I hear northern pacific Z-5 in the near future???
WOUNDERFUL INFO! TH"X!

Just like usual, HO gets the Lion’s share of new stuff and N gets left with very little. Where are the N scale Gensets O Mighty manufacturers?
Great coverage and photography.
Some models getting a little pricy but so is everything else.
Well, being a B&O fan, the Bachmann EM-1 was at first a thrilling announcement. But when I viewed the photo, it becomes painfully obvious (even on the thumbnail view) that there are no connections between the boiler and the two engines to carry the required steam to and from the cylinders. I know this is to allow these monsters to go around ridiculously sharp curves on 4X8 layouts but it totally puts this $400.00 piece in the toy train category. Oh well, at least I don’t have to worry about saving up the money.
I appreciate the longer more complete article.
Good report, however, the new products are kind of thin in N scale compared to HO. Are we being forgotten again or is there more to come?
Saw an article under new products about BL releasing PRR M1a finally.
No one seems to know anything about it
How about anyone out there?
this hobby always impresses me you have given me a lifetime of enjoyment thank you
The EM1 announcement is a great news release. It is about time someone did a Yellowstone in plastic!
Looking forward to the Bachmann B&O EM1!
Great preview article. Anything new in the DCC world?
What!!! no “S” scale or “G” scale???
Too expensive! How can young people afford to purchase these items? Is there a future for model railroading if young people are priced out of the hobby espicially with computers and i-pods becoming more popular? With industrial and/or manufacturing jobs going over seas and the middle class disappearing, who is going to buy model railroading stuff? The only customers still here are old folks who are dying off.
Very useful to be able to get a feel for what is new and now available and what is coming.
Thanks, would like to see more O gauge.
thanks for the previews. Good job.
Great!
I can’t believe you missed all the S Gauge stuff, not to mention all the new DCC that must be new.
Looks like i will be getting a few new freight cars here.
