2035 smoke unit

Hello everyone!

today i got a fluid conversion kit for my 2035 because the orignal heater burned out so i decided im going to convert it. one issue, 2035 didnt come with a spring and the kit included it so i put the spring in the pistion housing and whenever i try to run it, it makes a really loud clunk sound and it struggles to run because of the spring and the spring is not very heavy/strong or anything and when i take the spring out, it will stick and not come back down. also if anyone knows an easy way to take these apart please let me know because so far the only way i know how to disassemble it is very tedious

Just replace the heating element and use the plastic cap. Leave the rest as it was. You also could have purchased a replacement heater and still used smoke fluid, And yes the 675, 2025 and 2035 are very annoying to reassemble.

the piston on my 736 used to stick, so I used some fine emery paper and smoothed it out, works like a charm now.

yes i have done that but it will still stick. i have notice that for my engines it smokes about 45-50% more on fluid. so i guess no spring?

awesome i will give it a try once i find some of that paper!

If the piston is sticking, you may have smoke pellet residue in the cylinder and/or on the piston. Before doing anything else, I suggest cleaning both with a soft coth moistened with mineral spirits.

You could also have sticky residue from someout putting lubricant on the parts. Smoke unit pistons and cylinders should not be lubricated.

ok thanks for the tip! ill see what i can do!
