Anyone know when the BNSF is running the 261 through Rochelle this year? Tried to find it on their web page and wasn’t successful.
I just read something about a Chicago-TO-Rochelle train trip with the 261, in addition to one that would go through. Again, no dates yet (and I’m anxious to find out about that, too). I’m just wondering where the engine will be turned on that trip.
THE BNSF.Will run 261 to Rochelle and beyond to Flag Staff Ill. where the train will be turned for the return trip back to Chicago on Sunday June 23.
Thanks for the info. Going to make for a busy week of train watching. That is one week after the 3985 will be on display in West Chicago on Sunday the 16th on the UP.
Forgot to ask you earlier today if you had any time estimates for Rochelle. Doubt very much if the little woman will agree to let me camp out there for twenty four hours even though she has condescended to accompany me on train chasing trips in the past.
