26th Annual Temple Model Train Show - Cancelled

I know this information has been posted on other forums, but I haven’t seen it here yet, so I apologize if I just missed it here.

I got the official word last night that the train show this coming weekend (9/20-9/21, 2008) in Temple, TX has been cancelled due to the fact that there are evacuees from Hurricane Ike still sheltered at the Mayborn Center. No word yet as to whether it will be rescheduled or not, but I’m leaning towards not.

Thank you for the heads up, I was wondering if it was still “a go”.

Bummer!

That was the first show I ever went to, even back in '87 and '88 it was great! Hopfully it can get back on track next year.

%(&&()_(^%&&!!!

Them pesky evacuees are ruining things for everybody. Why don’t they go home where they belong?

Nice, R.T. [:P]

I have to admit that I’m disappointed, because my modular club was scheduled to set up there for the show. But if they had to cancel because of the space being used, I’d rather it be this than a doll show or something like that.

But you just can’t beat mother nature.

Hey, the World’s Greatest Hobby folks would have a captive audience!!!
