If anyone is interested, “The 28’th Annual Jacksonville Model Train and Railroadiana Show” is this Saturday, February 24 at the Prime Osborne Convention Center (Former Jacksonville Union Terminal). The hours will be from 9AM to 4PM and is a one day only event. Admission $6, kids under 12 no charge with free parking.
Locals tell me it’s the big show for this area. This will be my second Model Railroad show in 35 years so I’m looking forward to checking out all the stuff!
It’s a good regional show, with a bit more memorabilia than you’ll find at most shows.
Lou Sommers should be there with his outstanding N scale layout - he routinerly runs 50+ cars through some outstanding scenery and the North Fla HO club usually shows.
I’ll be there as a vendor. Stop by IronPenguin Electronics and say “Hi.”
I will surely stop by and say “Hi”. I’m looking forward to seeing the layouts in operation.
The Savannah show last month had a nice N scale layout operating. They had several long freight trains going at the same time. The HO pike was somewhat messed up as the operators had to keep re-coupling the trains around the layout and they had several low power areas as the cab operators had to push their trains past the dead zones.
