what is the difference between the 3 well and 5 well cars is it that the three well has 3 ft deep and the 5 has 5ft depth or how does tthat work. thanks.
Yes, the 3 well car has 3 ft deep wells and the 5 well car has 5 ft deep wells…it is actually referring to how many wells each car has, 3 wells or 5 wells.
Intermodal Well cars are often (but not always) what’s called an articulated car.
That means that multiple cars ride on shared trucks.

A 3 well car means that 3 cars are connected together in this way. Similarly, a 5 well car has 5 connected together.
