3-Way Stub

Couple months ago took the little ones to the train museum in Sacramento, CA (very awesome place, with an enormous cab-forward inside). http://www.csrmf.org/default.asp

Outside of the turntable & roundhouse (behind camera in the picts below) is a 3-way stub switch leading to the car barn. In Model Railroad Hobbyist there is an article about building stub switches http://model-railroad-hobbyist.com/ so thought I’d post the prototype pict for any interested.

The humans inserted for scale are 33" tall.
The one I modeled (in 1:1 scale) is on the left.

Cheers!

I looked at the index for both downloads and did not see anything that mentions stubs. Do you have a more direct link? Thanks.

I have built some stubs and still looking for more suggestions.

The article “Parallel Lines: Building a Stub Turnout”, by Tim Warris (fasttracks dude), is in Issue 2 (April 2009) on page 123.

Thanks, that did it. Though I am using Adobe Reader 9, all I saw in the index was Layouts - Parallel Lines. When I clicked on the article I then saw stubs. A liot easier than what I did as I chose under the table control.
