30's commercial vehicles in HO gauge

There doesn’t seem to be much out there in 1930’s American prototype commercial vehicles. Jordan has some Model T based light trucks, and a 20’s Mack truck with several bodies. Busch has a Ford AA delivery truck in a variety of liveries. Does anyone have any additional sources for commercial vehicles for my 1939 layout? Thanks- Richard W.

You are right, Richard. It’s been a sore point for me since I’m modeling in the early 40’s. However, it looks like that may change. I received an ad from Internet Hobbies just yesterday informing me that Walthers will be coming out with some HO scale cars in the next month or two. A few looked like they might be from the 30’s and early 40’s. Not sure the quality but they didn’t look bad from the ad. Guess we’ll have to wait and see…

Check out Jordan miniatures, and Sylvan Scales Models. Jordan has 1920s Fords and other fine cars (trucks), and Sylvan has some 30s and early 40s. You can see them at Truck Stop Models web page. Click on the Catalog, then drop down the menu under Trucks, and pick the vendors.

Trip Aiken is very knowledgeable, and if it’s made, he can find it for you. Good luck!

I think you’ll find Mr. and Mrs. Clare Gilbert nice people with which to do business.
