I recently was at a flea market and had bought a nice collection of HO scale freight cars and locomotives. In the collection was a Minnesota,Mining,& Mfg (3M) boxcar. Its color is a boxcar red,its made entirely of wood, with sliding doors, and metal sides. I have looked in Greenberg’s guide to Varney and Athearn books…but no avail.Does anyone know who made this car?
I have the same car , I believe it is a roundhouse car .
If it’s a wooden car with metal doors and slides, you might have an old Silver Streak kit. I think they made one for 3M. They’re put together really well, and with a little TLC and adding brake rigging on the underside, they can look really good. I’ve got several old Silver Streak box and refrigerator cars, and I’m not afraid to run them with my newer Intermountain and Accurail cars at all. Nice cars.

Yes it does have metal doors and slides, along with original metal spring trucks as well.I too run it along with all the other modern and old/vintage freight cars I have. Thanks for the info!!!
I have the same car an since it shares construction details with my Silver Streak “Cookie Box”, then we must conclude they are sisters.
