When I worked at the Veterans Service Office in Columbus in the 1980’s until 1998, I had a office layout on a 4 X 4 plywood sheet on top of four filing cabinets. Three in a row with a fourth used to give a square. I had Gilbert S on the outside loop and Gargraves inside loop. I ran two trains in opposite directions, Inside the inner loop were oil drum loader, magnetic crane and a few buildings. On the periphery I had trees close enough to keep any engines from falling off in case of accident. My clients and their kids love it. When I get recovered enough I hope to reconstruct it. I had larger layouts in my VA office at Chillicothe, also at my Ironton AMVETS office.
Anyone out there try a 4x4?
I have a 30"x48" (2.5x4) portable O-Gauge layout. It’s built on a cut down 30" hollow core door slab. A 4x4 would be nice, but the 2.5x4 fits in the trunk of my car! [:D]
It has a loop of O-27 track with two switches that allow for a short “siding” at one end.
Thanks!
