Man praying for the safety for all involved, knowing that these runs will bring out the foamers out of the ballast like dust.
My only question is this? How come Southern 630 won’t be doing mainline excursions over her home rails this year? It baffles me to know why 630 isn’t doing any mainline 21st Century excursions this year.
Vince, 630 is a big small and older so she’ll have a much better life on TVRM’s museum operations than out on the main line. No. 4501 is better suited to provide more speed and power. See my blog post on this last week.
Will these excursions have diesels added to the consist or will they allow the steam engines to run unaccompanied?
Roger: these in particular are test runs which will not be open to the public. I can’t see 611 not being unassisted, as they probably want to see what she can do. Hopefully they let her open up to higher speeds than you would normally find on an excursion during these test runs.
John,
Because the mission is testing wouldn’t it be prudent to have an engine that could compensate for a failure?
How far would you travel without an inflated spare tire for your car?
Wonderful news! Thank you Trains. Looking forward to your issue, and Blue Ray. I’ll pass on DVDs thanks.
