Now if someone had a chunk of money to blow and reversed back to full scale what Lionel tubular track is, how tall would it be? The gauge would be off by 3-1/2". I think they could use the same metal they use for guardrails. The connector pins would be very heavy. Could you imagine how hard it would be to remove or add pins? I bet you could find critters inside track left without pins at one end.
