Has any one filmed or photographed in the Spencer -5 Row area on the NS Piedmont Divison.
If so how do you get to this area.

There used to be a crossing there for Hackett St. They took it out though. You can still park there and walk to where you want to be. It’s as safe as any place, there are people there all the time taking pictures. I run through there once in a while on coal trains for Buck Seam plant, but usually I run north out of Linwood. Pull up Google maps and go to Spencer NC, look up near the river, you’ll see N Salisbury Ave (29/70). Then you’ll see Hackett St., it’s the first crossing going south on the mainline from the river. Thats the easy way if you don’t know the area. Plus you can go down near the river and have a good view of the Yadkin bridge.
I have been to Five Row and looks like a good place to watch them go up the hill. Its next to the right of the gas station nicknamed by local railfans “Little India”. Go on Hackett Street and then Five Row street. It looked pretty safe, but then I was only there atleast 1-3 minutes before heading back to the Wye in Salisbury. I would have been there earlier this month and today, but couldn’t due to the sudden notice of the trips and schedule problems.
