60' coaches

I noticed that Riverossi/Hornby have announced the re-release of the 60’ passenger coaches. I have also noticed that there seems to be a number of the original 60’ coaches being offered by various on line hobby shops as well.

Anyone have a set of these coaches? What is the detail like and how do they run? For those of us with smaller layouts these units would certainly look better than the larger coaches which require 24’ radius.

At present I run a couple of sets of the old Roundhouse Harriman sets, I think the Riverossi units would complement these on my layout.

Comments please.

I have a set of New Haven heavyweights and the level of detail is a step above Athearn. They run well on level track and go around 18" radius ok. They don’t uncouple themselves as easily as the longer 89’ cars. I doubt they are close to the prototype but they work fine for me. J.R.

They are an excellent choice for operating on any layout with fairly tight radii and their level of detailing is very good for the price. Personally, I’m hoping to see the RPO return as a choice, along with availability as undec models. I bought a number of these cars when they were offered by Walthers, some time ago, and would certainly like to acquire more.
