60's era Shinohara nickel silver switch problem

OK, I have a Shinohara switch that is driving me nuts. [banghead]
I’m in the process of setting up my cab control & it’s apparently an electrofrog switch but I want to remove that feature. [%-)]

Is there anyway I can eliminate that feature with out ruining the switch?

Do I simply just take my Dremel to the frog from the bottom of the switch?

I don’t want to replace this switch as it’s nicely situated on my layout.

PLEASE any suggestions would be extremely helpful.

Shinohara turnouts are the ‘all rail’ frog type. They are not ‘Electro Frog’ - that is is a Peco thing. With Shinohara turnouts, you need to insulate the rails that come together at the frog. Insulated rail joiners are the easy way to do this. I assume you are getting a ‘short’ when you throw the switch - correct? email me off of the forum and I can send you some additional info.
