'64 CPR Engine photo sought

I just signed in as a new member to the forum… 15 min ago. Wondering if anyone can direct me towards a good colour photo of the engines Canadian Pacific Rail was running in 1964.
I think this is a great forum, and I’m having a lot of fun resurrecting my railroad after a 20 yr pause.
Took me until now to figure out how to post a message, what those smilies were all about (aren’t there any tiny “train” graphics out there??? for that sort of purpose).
If you’ve been watching the news re the fires in BC, I’m glad to report that my railroad doesn’t need to be evacuated yet (it spent too much time in a box already), the 3 forest fires in the region appear to be more or less contained now - 15-20 kms away was close enough for me.

Hi Krump!
Nice to see a fellow Canadian on-line! [:)]
I don’t know about the specific year, but you might want to eye-ball www.railscanada.com to see what you can find. Another good site is www.railserve.com
Glad to hear you didn’t get burnt out, I’m in Calgary, and we’re getting lots of smoke from your area[xx(] - hope for rain!
good hunting!
Tim

Thanks Tim, those were new webpages for me. Maybe I can find a good photo there. I believe that our club is going to a train show in Calgary next month. I’m not able to go but we do visit Calgary every couple of years, one day I’ll need to check out their model rr.
ps - fires are slowly being shut down - cooler weather, less wind etc. How are the fires in Alberta these days?

You might also try http://www.trainweb.org/galt-stn/cproster/topindex.htm for some photos. I’ve found some rosters on the internet by using Google, but they don’t always have pictures.

Hi Krump,
We’re not burning anywhere near as bad as you folks - the sunsets are FABULOUS[:D]
I can actually smell the smoke some mornings, though.
Tim

think I’m gonna go with the “Royal Hudson” locomotive b/c I think it’s a classic.
thanks.
re: fires - the sunsets are exceptional, but the MOON is RED (very strange) due to a new fire on the western front. unfortunately the smoke is pouring in and ashes were falling into my coffee cup (Union Pacific souvenir mug from Sacramento Railway Museum)

  • we just completed a new engine house for the club r/r layout
