Good Morning,
Can someone tell me if the 6466WX tender always came with the metal railings? Has anyone had to replace the railing, and if so, how easy of a fix is it?
Thanks,
AceApe

I’m pretty sure the X in 6466wx stands for extra parts, and that they all had the extra railing. I don’t recall how the railing is held in place, or how difficult it is to replace. I can’t imagine it being too hard.

WX means “deck railing only”. The railing is held on simply by bending the wire over inside the body. Very easy fix.

There should be 2 holes in the deck at the corners for the small cotter pins that hold the railing. The railing is threaded through the pins and the pin halves bent inside the shell. The ends of the rail should slide into the 2 holes on the verticle wall where the “coal” load is located. It should just sit in the holes, I do not recomend bending them more than what is needed to keep them from sliding out.
BTW, all parts are available from Jeff Kane at The Train Tender, www.ttender.com
