Goodmorning folks. Having an issue with my 736. The side rod screws keep backing out. I have basicly only hand tightened them. Would a small drop of locktite or strip of teflon tape be a good idea?
you should tighten then up a bit more than hand tight. Never had to use loctight.
Tightening them with a screwdriver is all that is needed. If they still come loose, check to make sure the rods are not binding at all, by turning the wheels by hand. Take the motor out if necessary.

Jclasshero: Don’t over tighten the screws, they snap off easy. I just snug them up with a nut driver. I had a 221 from 1946 that had a screw that kept loosening up because of the threads being sloppy. A drop of NON HARDENING Permatex gasket sealer solved the problem and the screw can be removed if necessary. John
Thank You all for the info. I’ll try the nutdriver forst then move on from there! Again thanks for all the info.
