90 second epoxy

Hi everyone!

I just made a new discovery at my local hardware store and it has made some of my modeling projects much easier!

The discovery is 90 second epoxy! I have been using the standard 5 minute stuff for a long time and I have become tired of waiting for the stuff to set. The new (for me) 90 second stuff is a vast improvement. Specifically, I have been mounting SMD LEDs in my HO vehicles and I have to say that after tonight’s success I will never use the 5 minute stuff again!

I am sure that thousands of you have already discovered the stuff so please be patient while I jump up and down with enthusiasm. Now I just have to make sure that I don’t epoxy my fingers to everything I touch![swg]

Good! What brand is it?

I’ve used a product called Plumbers Epoxy. It comes in a tube, you rip off the amount you need and squeeze and roll it around in your hands untill the hardener starts to work. It turns rock hard and can be sanded or filed as needed.

The 90 second epoxy is a house brand made for Home Hardware in Canada.

Here is a link to the product:

http://www.homehardware.ca/en/rec/index.htm/Paint-Décor/Painting-Supplies/Tape-Glue-Adhesive/Adhesives-Glues/Epoxies/28-4g-Syringe-Epoxy-Adhesive/_/N-2pqfZ67l/Ne-67n/No-0/Ntk-All_EN/R-I2040106?Ntt=epoxy&Num=1

I tried to find a link for their shipping policies etc. but drew a blank.

I did get several hits when I googled ‘90 second epoxy’ so you might be able to find a source if you do the same.

For those in the USA, check out ‘SureHold 90 sec epoxy’, item #336. Their web page lists Ace Hardware, Walgreens, True Value Hardware, Northern Tool, & Hobby Lobby - All of which are in my town. They also list Blicks Art and several other stores I am not aware of. Guess I’ll be looking for some Friday!
