A 3/8" drillbit

I was sorting through the junk mail and found a cheap plastic drill bit size finder. At the time I was thinking about the Proto 33" Flatback wheels.

One wheel fits very tightly into a 3/8" drill sized hole with some effort. I thought if I drilled a row of these holes (On a strip of plastic sheeting) I can snap wheels into them and paint em all in one stroke instead of laborously one by one.

Good idea? Bad Idea?

Certainly beats trying to buy one of those premade wheel painter holders from a mail order house for a bunch of dollars plus shipping.

Not a bad idea, but it’s been done already. Check out http://www.modelerschoice.com for a jig that does just that, and sets up both wheels on the axle at the same time…

[bow]That is a nice find! The pricing is pretty close to what I am willing to pay.

I might just get a few of these.

THANKS!
