I saw a BNSF SD60M and SD70MAC in the local UP yard today. As I was photographing them I thought it a bit ironic that UP had to bring these into the area for them to be in the area. Around here all of the third generation, six axle locomotives on BNSF are GEs.
I know I am strumming the same old, sad song - but I wish people would come to Lincoln and see our mixed bag of locomotives. We have the 60’s and the 70’s going through here all the time. We have SW10 and 15 switchers, lots of 40’s, some 38’s and 39’s an occasional B23-7, 60 power units, regular 8’s and 9’s. And this is just what we see that manages to escape the confines of the yard. And if you really must, we have the new ones, too. Just aren’t quite the same thrill.
