I was thinking, that, this summer, I organize the first ever Trains Magazine Web Forum “Get Together” right here in St. Louis. Of Course, I would work out all the details, and organize, a Tour of St. Louis Railroading. Kirkwood, Dupo, The MRS, Gateway yard, Madison Yard…ah heck…I don’t even know what to do! Maybe one of you guys out there could help me put this together?
Tried something like that for the WCINFO YahooGroup a while back. Out of 500 members…something like 10 showed up. It’s a great idea overall and I would like to attend something like this.
I think it’s an entirely possible idea, but problem is that it’d be quite a travel for mayn people. Besides here, you’d probably want to advertise to local railfans as well. It could work, but it would involve ALOT of work from you. Give it a try, at least you can say you did.

Has anyone thought of just making a home-made T-shirt or sweatshirt with his/her forum “handle” printed across it and wearing it to railfan events. I’m sure there must be plenty of forum readers and contributors who go to conventions and meetings held by national associations and historical societies focused on individual railroads.
But let’s not let that cut into the sales of T-shirts and sweatshirts that lots of museums rely on to stay alive.
