I was lucky fo find this CN 2-10-2. I had been looking for CPR for the last few month, then I came across this engine.
I was very surprised at just how well this engine ran right out of the box. A light oil applied and a dusting was all it took to get this running like a fine watch.
This model is the can motor version, backhead detail is very good. Very heavy, pulls very well.
You may be the Luckiest guy I know, you have won some really sensationals!!!
I am really Happy for You, & as any Model RR’dr wish your luck continues, & rubs off on us!!!
I know that I was lucky that I ran across a few auctions with Canadian brass.
I am sure that had this engine been on e-bay it would have sold for a lot more than I paid and that I would most likely have dropped out before the end of the auction.
Good mint Canadian brass typically goes for a premium, too many bidders, so few Canadian brass engines.
One very good buy was a CNR Hudson, It had a terrible paint job, lot of brush strokes and thick paint. Tthe engine is a very good runner, has been upgraded with a very expensive can motor and a custom gear set. I recently bought a Badger air sandblaster and in 15 minutes I had stripped all the paint off.
