A Couple Night Shots of a Snowy Beer Run

Last night when I was headed home, I noticed the Beer Run sitting at Tennyson St. The snow that was falling made for a compelling photo, so I quickly ran home to get my tripod and camera. These were my two favorites of the night:

I tried something a little different with this one. I desaturated the image almost to the point of making it a B&W. I decided to keep a little hint of color, though, to add a little character to the image. Still trying to decide if I like it.

Here’s a more traditional view of the same train.

C&C always welcome!

…Interesting photos Chris…Where is the lower center light {below the Sante Fe}, icon coming from…?

I believe I like the tone of the tint in the lower photo better.

Quentin,

it is a walkway light, part of the locomotive.

Neat perspective on the first photo. I like it!

Good job, Chris. I like both photos, but, like Quenton, I like the bottom photo a tad bit better, with the light. But both photos are very ,very good.

Both are cool! (maybe literally?) I think I like the top one better for the composition and low angle.

Thanks Ed, I wondered if it might be that…Guess the exposure made it appear a bit brighter.

Nice pictures.Thank you for sharing.

stay safe

Nice work Chris. I’m assuming the Beer Run is a local job from Denver to Coors? Would that be right?

Here’s a song for next time you see that train… (Beer Run - by Todd Snider)

I kinda like this one.

Or this.

Nice shots, Chris. If it weren’t for the sinus headache I currently have from my first cold of the season, I would’ve been inspired to go out and get some of my own shots today.

Thank you all for the very kind words!

Dblstack – it is indeed a train returning from Coors out in Golden.
