Okay, I’ll admit, I’ve got an account with YouTube, I dunno why, I’ve got my own website for vids. I flagged it as an “illegal act.” I mean, why not? I know there will be a never ending progression of stupidity, no matter what, but at least I feel I did my part, and tried something.

In this day and age, thanks to the magical power of the internet we are finally able to fully appreciate how many idots there are in the world. Sadly it leaves many a normal person going nuts because we see what we cannot prevent. They’ve always been there just not everyone knew about it before. Unfortunately stupid acts caught on video breed more of the same. How many stupid acts have been initiated since the show and movie “Jackass” ? I’m sure that was a catalyst for idiots all over to try and outdo one another…
I watched the video a couple of times. It was very dark and wobbly. What exactly did they do (apart from tresspassing that is)? I couldn’t work it out.
Hugh, in the first video they jumped right next to the train. If there had been a loose strap or chain dangling from a flatcar load, it could potentially slice them in two. They also did this in view of the conductor who might have panicked and big-holed the train. ie emergency braking. In emergency braking, not all cars brake at the same rate, so parts of the train bunch up and others stretch out. Then, when that slack runs in, it could derail.
If you listen to the second video, the last line says it all.
Sadly, I’ve seen folks position themselves that close to the trains at Rochelle.
Now “train surfing” is just plain idiotic.

Hugh, that one punk waving at the train was doing so within 3-4 feet of it - that rail you see lying on the roadbed is just off the ties.
I’ve seen the aftermath of a centerbeam tiedown getting loose - fortunately it was not a human being, but a signal mast. You should have seen how efficient the slice was.

Close to moving trains? Get this one. At Rochester, Pa., usually on Sunday mornings, there is what appears to be a father and his teenage son who sit on the tailgate of a pick-up truck that they backup so they are facing the tracks. And believe it or not, these two idiots are sitting so close to the track they can practically reach out and touch the train! They have been coming there for sometime now. As far as I know NS Police have not come by to get them out of there yet.

You’ll be surprised what people do around moving semis. As far as I know I aint hit anyone but missed many “Jest this much” unsure if they escaped death.
