A Few Question

Hi

I have a few questions

Today it occured to me that when i have to roadbed switches it will be difficult. Is it best to use sheet cork or cut strips to fit?

As my board is only 2x6 foot does anybody know any wayss to pack alot of action into this small place. I was hoping to have an oval with Ladders,A Yard and a Turntable and industrys all in 2x6.Is this possible?

Does anybody know how to post pictures on ths topic because i will post a picture of my layout plan!

Sooooooooooooo many thanks

What scale?

Turntables are space hogs. You can put more action in if you use runaround tracks.

Check out Micro Layouts for some ideas.

Scan your plan and save it either as a .jpg or jpeg format. Then you need to upload them to a web host. I use Village Photos. You can get a limited amount of band width for free or sign up if you need more.

Next: Go to edit button on your post. You should be in the “Edit Post” page. Click on the “Add Image” icon in the Format tool bar. You will see a [img][\img] typed in the Message box. Paste the url address (copied from web host) between the [img] and [\img].

Next: Check to see if you had done it correct by using the preview button below the message box.

I built a layout a while back on a 3 X 6 table for a friend of mine. It has a mountain on one end and a small country type town in the middle and towards the other end. It’s a real busy little place if you’ll take the time to look. It has kids playing baseball, a gossiping ice man, a guy in a hurry to get back to his truck while his faithful dog looks on, old guys playing checkers in the fire house, an old DC 3 flying over head, etc. Just look around at the real world and take notes. It comes down to individual taste. Some modelers like a really lively layout, while others like it slow and quiet. As for the turn table, I’ve got to agree, it will take up a lot of space that you could use for other things…

Does that go for the photos in your signature as well. Does the photos all reside somewhere else and only come up when the thread is open?
How does that work?

Yes, go to “edit your profile” and find the “Signature: text & Graphics version” box. That is where you can type in the [ img] then the url address of photo and end with [\img]. Notice I used a backward slash ( \ ) in the closing bracket which should be a forward slash ( / ). I had to do that for demonstration purposes. If I used a forward slash, you would see instead.
I also put a space between the bracket ( [ ) and the “img”. If I didn’t you would not see anything because the code would be recognized by the program.
Sometimes you may noticed the NS logo and Irish Setter photo in my signature is replaced by the red X box. That’s because I went over my allotted free band width for that hour.

You are correct. Just like the light in a refrigerator [swg]
I don’t write programs so I don’t know how it’s done. It’s magic!
