A few questions on a Rivarossi cab forward

I was at a tent sale at a local hobby shop and they had a ton of bachmann, Lionel, Atlas, MTH and others for sale. O, HO, and N scale.

I came across a Rivarossi DC cab forward from 1995 that was brand new in the box. And for real cheap price. After some grease and oil it ran nice and smooth.

Are there any issues I should concerned about.

They’re a great running locomotive! I have 19 Rivarossi articulateds, 11 AC-10/12 Cab Forwards, 2 Kitbashed AC-3 Cab Forwards, 3 Kitbashed AC 9 Yellowstones, 1 Kitbashed MC-1 and 2 spare Y6Bs.

The Rivarossi motor is a high current motor, locked rotor is well over one amp.

By remotoring a Rivarossi with either a Faulhaber 2224RS, a single Canon EN22 or the ultimate dual Canon EN22s you can add close to a pound of weight and they will pull the paint off the walls.

Edit:
2 Canon motors paralleled only draw 800 ma locked rotor so any DCC decoder works great. My decoders and speakers are mounted in the te

I believe 95 should be with a motor in the boiler between the drives.

If you got a good deal on one of those, congrats!

Easy confirmation, does it have the motor in the cab? Or is the motor in the boiler(wont see unless u disassemble)? (not being in the cab also verifies it lol)

Yes the motor is in the boiler.

Also what decoder could be used in this engine?

Thanks guys for your thoughts.
