A few recent projects

I will be out of town this weekend and won’t be able to participate in WPF so here are a couple of projects I’ve been working on.

This is an Athearn BB Caboose that I picked up off the used shelve at my LHS. I cleaned it up, repaired some holes in the roof, added weight, window glazing, caboose trucks and knuckle couplers and painted the handrails and ladders. Oops, this photo was taken before I added the window glazing.

This is my first attempt at building a metal kit. Of course it’s the Woodland Scenics Gas Station. I still need to add quite a few details to the scene. Behind it is my new Intermountain F3 with sound, a very nice locomotive, picking up a flat with a scratch-built pulpwood load.

Very nice job on that gas station, Ray. I’ve built one before and they look deceiving simple when put together but they aren’t easy to build and even more difficult to paint so they look as nice as yours.

Thanks Jim. By the way, my daughter and son-in-law live in Prattville, well they are several miles from town, but they do have a Prattville address. My wife and I will be there Sunday on our way back from Huntsville where I hope to have time to get a few photographs of the intermodal yard next to the airport, if I don’t get chased away.
