A General Purpose transition

Here’s a question that I should have asked earlier. When geeps are referred to as transitioning, what exactly does that mean?

It means reconfiguring the connection between the main generator and the traction motors.

At low speeds, when the motors are operating at low voltage but high current, you connect two traction motors in series. At higher speeds, when the motors are operating at high voltage but low current, you have all 4 connected in parallel with the main generator.

It is the electical equivalent of “shifting gears” on your car if you think of voltage as RPM and current as torque.

Well, that’s fairly ingenious, thanks for the reply!
