Halloween may be long past, but I was digging through my CP photos from the late 80s and 90s, and what did I find in one but the spirit of a long-scrapped consolodation sitting quietly beside its former roundhouse?
Okay, so that was, in fact, a few days ago on my model railroad…I was using my new digital, so a double exposure wasn’t an option, so I turned down the lights, set the exposure to 8 seconds, and whipped the consolodation out of the picture with swift hands after about 5 seconds.
I wish I had…A: Photoshop, and B: Photoshop skills! Most of my picture effects are done with the camera!
Fuji S5200! Keep in mind it’s not really the main camera, it’s just an intermediate step between my film SLR and a digital SLR…with the film SLR still being the main cam. If only I could afford the film!
Actually, it has always been and will most likeley be always easier to do things like then taking the picture rather than doing it in post production like photoshop.
Fuji is a good brand. I used one of their digital cameras up until I bought myself a new DSLR here a few weeks ago, and I still use the other digital occasionally. I did the same thing you did, with a less expensive digital camera as the “intermediate step” between film and a DSLR. That way you can learn the ropes with digital before you get into the big stuff. A DSLR will come in time for you, I’m sure. You’ve definately got the talent to be able to use one!
Have you tried The GIMP - it’s esentially a freebie version of photoshop, and while it feels a little clunky to someone who has used photoshop pretty extensively (me), if you’re still learning, it wouldn’t be much harder than trying to figure out photoshop.
