A GOOD forum needs BAD topics

It’s true. If you don’t have topics where you can female dog and moan, then the bitching and moaning comes out in the good topics.

I prefer bitching and moaning in separate topics, thank you.

Which means that in topics designated as B&M zones, no smiling or positive feedback will be allowed…

This forum has not had a “good” female dog or moaning session in a long time… but that does not mean we ought to be female dog and moaning about stuff. Heck I am not sure if Bergie will allow us this thread.

SpaceMOuse Hi man You may start alot of trouble starting this “OFF TOPIC” I personaly do not care though. Its all good with me. At least you did not use all capital letters. We would be so mad if you did. LOL Well just the Certified complainers would have been real mad with you. Come from behind the curtain HATERS it is your time to shine. [;)]

B&M: Route of the Crabby Minuteman

I can truly understand that there are alot of B&M here. I think it is funny when i sit here and read some of the posts, some just need to simmer down its not like were here to box last time i checked we come here for relaxation and reflection to get ideas for our layouts and to have a bit of freindly chit chat [2c]

Yes but were do you draw the line? I was an Administrator in another forum (nothing to do with trains) and we had a forum called AREA 51. It was fine at first then got completly out of control. I think it’s a bad idea here because of the status of Model Railroad Magazine. I mean this magazine is read by millions of people. I think we need to represent this forum the same way.

Just My Opinion

I’m on a couple of Classic Movie forums, and if you think that the B&M here is bad, just try staying sane through some of THAT stuff! Actually, I just try and skim over the ‘flaming’ here, and believe me, guys, sometimes it can be a little embarrassing if later on, when you’ve calmed down, you go back and read over your post and think, “Good God, why did I say THAT?” Hey, we all go through it occasionally.
Peace–it’s Lent, after all.

Im also involved in reenacting (my other hobby).
In reenacting we have a term called FARB.Which comes from “far be it from me”
whenever something comes along that we dont care for we say it is farby!
just my 2 cents worth

My Mom taught me never to say anything about anyone or anything unless it was good! And, oh man, is this good!!! LOL Anyway, the nice thing about a forum is that we can choose to look at a topic or not. So, if someone wants to female dog and moan, go ahead. I don’t have to read it! Much better than in person when I usually end up saying, “obviously, you have mistaken me for someone who gives a &%#*”.

Lets play trains instead! [:o)]

Some of you are talking this a little too seriously. There are always going to be posts about this or that try to influence the direction of the board. This is natural. Tha’t all I’m saying.

umm could it maybe be that we’ve all really just had it pretty good in regards to model railroading over the past few years, so aside from the Athearn and Lionel/MTH incidents we really haven’t had much to complain about?

I mean think about it:

~ Manufacturers generally listen to their customers, especially companies like Life Like and BLI who seem to release whatever locomotive modelers voice desire for most.

~The standard of the hobby has been raised to a new level with things like RTR superdetailing, DCC, and sound cards in the last 20 years.

~The advent of home computers has made everything from prototype research to decal printing amazingly easy

~For most scales there is a truly wide array of products availble (just look at the Walthers catalogues.)

In short, we have it better then ever before, maybe that’s why there’s been less complaining.

Not me…

What era do you reenact,I use to do Civil War Era,

Anybody checked the “patriotism” thread?

Peter

OMFG STEAM ROXOR5 TEH BIG ONE!!!111

A few bad apples can ruin a forum without moderators. It took a few bad apples to ruin the patriotism thread and it probably will be nuked eventually. I’m here to talk about railroading, model railroading and their associated topics. I don’t come here to talk about politics or anything else not related.

The moderators have my support to remove out-of-hand threads such as the partriotism thread and ban any “bad apples.”

If threads are getting out of hand, it’s up to US to contact the moderators on the link at the bottom of this page. If you feel a thread has crossed the line, don’t wait for someone else, take action yourself! You’re not being wimpy or a snitch, your helping uphold the high quality of this forum. It’s so funny that we have people that leave this forum or get kicked off, and turn around and join right back in under another name!

Moderators usually respond within hours of being contacted about hot or flaming threads. As so many already know, Bergie does give us plenty of “lee way”. I have seen instances where hot threads were quickly cooled of by sensible responses and the topic survived and Bergie pretty much let it fly.

Peace!

Speaking of the patriotic thread, i was reading the first page (just got around to reading it), noticed Bergie was reading it, went to go to the second page and he had deleted it already [V]. ah well, will never know what people said after that first page.
