Okay, please tell me that I’m not dreaming here. This is soooooo cool! www.con-cor.com/PAGoose.html It won’t be prototypical, but mine will be marked for the Boston and Maine! I love freelancing!
Con-Cor’s HO scale Galloping Goose is 5 or 6 years old already. I have one decorated for Southern Pacific, which, as near as I know, the SP never did have. I even put a sound decoder into it.
It’s how old? Their website say’s it’s a “future release”! You mean that this thing has been out there and I’ve missed it? Crap! I need to get beyond this Newbie status.
Maybe Con-Cor is going to re-release it with different road names than what was on the original version. They sometimes do things like that.
Yes it’s been out for some time, also came in HOn30. A friend has had one in HO for several years. Mine are in On30 with amazing sounds!
Yep, the Con-Cor Goose has been available before in both HO and HOn3. I believe they did one in N scale also.
I should have done a lot more digging around online before looking like an idiot here! The one I found on Concors website is for the “Pierce Arrow” version. Not released yet. I did not see the “standard version” that is already out on the street. Insert my head smack here. Do any of you have one in HO with the Soundtraxx? I imagine, like all Soundtraxx decoders, it must sound real good!
SoundTraxx made the only decoder that would fit into the HO scale version at the time of the first release. It sounds very good though it lacks adequate volume due to the small size of the speaker, which is only 1/2 inch diameter. A speaker that small just doesn’t have the power handling capacity for adequate volume.
When I first got my Precision Scale On30 Goose, I ran it around an oval of track and took a video of it and it’s sound with my small digital camera. Check it out on YouTube:

I didn’t capture the squeal of the brakes as I stopped it too slowly. Otherwise it sounds!
