My family broke ground on our Southern Manitoba railroad in June and have spent the rest of the summer constructing and moving earth and rocks. We have finally been able to complete the full loop of track and will continue working on the landscaping next year as construction has come to a screaching halt. Our local temps have plummetted to freezing levels and there is even some white stuff gathering on the ground. This is way too early to see snowflakes on the tracks.

Can’t seem to get the link to work. I saw your pics the first time I clicked on the thread and now they are gone. Weird. Might be my computer. Later eh…Brian.
Thanks for the advise about including the link to pictures.
The tunnel was a brainwave at work. We have a new office building that everybody just moved into and the old area was under renovation. The heating and ventilation duct work is being completely redone prior to turning the old area into more office and storage space. I was walking through the area one day with the thought of what to do for a tunnel on the brain. And then it hit me! The duct work makes a perfect tunnel system in the ceiling that could be transalated to a train layout. The tunnel is just a 14" diameter 3 ’ section of slightly curved metal ventilation ducting. It works quite nicely and will eventually look like a real tunnel on the outside. It’s also nice and sturdy!
And no, I didn’t just take my tin snips and take a section home with me. I talked with our maintenance department and got permission to help myself to an unwanted smaller section that was being stored in the compound out back.
Finally got a chance to see all the pics. Progress is great! Not a bad looking layout that other guy had either. Looking forward to seeing more in the Spring. Amazing what we can use on our layouts when it is being tossed out. Later eh…Brian.
