A little dose of SRT for the day

Today I went to lunch at a railroad themed resturant near Sam Sen station. After a belly-splitting meal, I grabbed my trusty camera and headed to the station.

The station sign and some birds.

Then Train 211 (Bangkok-Taphan Hin) came in.

We’re all set, let’s highball it outta here.

A string of MTY coaches races by

Train 171 (Bangkok-Sungai Kolok) makes a stop

I’d like to let this picture speaks for itself

Another MTY coach train blows by

Train 106 (Sila At-Bangkok) did a stop

And then Train 35 (Bangkok-Padang Besar) heads in and this shot concludes the my fix of trains for the day.

Nice pics! A question, what gauge is the SRT? It appears to be either British Colonial gauge (3’6") or meter gauge. In any event it looks a lot more plesant weatherwise than has been the case in the eastern and central US, this weekend.

SRT uses meter gauge. For more infomation on the history of Thai railways please visit http://www.railway.co.th/English/History.asp.

BTW,It was a bit hot day out shooting trains. We’re almost in the Summer and many porvinces are suffering from water shortage.

Thank you for posting those pictures, SRT. [4:-)]
