I’v been around the forum for nearly 2yrs and have always wondered but never found the criteria for individual Stars. Can someone guide me in the right direction.

I got my first at 50 and 2nd at 100. Someone else can help with the rest
1 purple star at 50 posts
2 blue stars at 100 posts
3 green stars at 500 posts
4 gold stars at 1000 posts
5 red stars at 2000 posts

I thought it was how green and/or dumb you are (lika me) so you asked more questions and got more stars. Kinda like getting them for attending Vacation Bible School or something.

Well, I’ll let you in on a little secret. The stars actually respresent two things. The number of times you mispel a word, and the number of times you ask a dumbe question.

When you get the right number of posts MR will send you a test. If you pass you get your star (flunk and they reset you to zero.) The tests get harder for the later stars. To get your 5th star you have to write a doctorial thesis. Those with the most stars are the smartest, bravest, handsomest model railroaders.[8D][8D]

The way to run up your star count is to set things up so you don’t have a life. Then you can post whenever your get bored.

congrats, although i am on the forums all the time i only post about things that ae relevant to me or that i can help with. Other than that i leave the topic well alone.
Well “some” people do that all the time! Me, I would never come back and post again just to run up the number of posts I have. Nope!
