A Million a Month

Take a look at page 29, in the July 2005 issue of Trains, under City Rail Briefs…
Houston’s MetroRail march boardings exceeded 1 million riders…

For a single line, light rail thats less than two years old, that aint too shabby…

And you guys thought we wouldnt get out of our pick up trucks!

I rode it last week, from the Astrodome to downtown…got there in under 10 minutes, less than a quarter of what it takes to drive the same route.
$2.00 bucks to park at the station, and $2.00 for a all day pass.

Not a bad deal, considering the cheapest place to park in downtown Houston is $5.00 for a half day.

All the stops are well placed, the Medical center, the Zoo, and four stops in midtown and downtown each, all within walking distance of the major buildings, including Enron Field.

Who is that guy that is on the payroll of the concrete and highway construction people that goes around ranting that every rail based people mover is a big waste?

We could condemn him driving on the streets along the MetroRail forever. [:D][:D][:D]

Wendell Cox is the one. Came here to Charlotte several years ago to blast our planned operation.

Thanks ralphm.

How about “The train leaves in two miniutes. Be under it.”
